Our Call To Discipleship
intro

Important Note To Students And Teachers

Starting last century and continuing into this century, a basic change occurred among Christians. The change was an increased emphasis on the importance of "church membership" and a decreased emphasis on following Jesus. As a result, many Christians placed their sense of spiritual security in "church membership" while decreasing their concern for discipleship. In the New Testament, the words "church membership" are not found. The words "disciple" or "disciples" occur frequently. As an illustration of the change, most Christians can describe "a good church member," but many of those same Christians cannot describe "a good disciple." "Church membership" often focuses on Christian worship practices. Discipleship focuses on a Christian's daily life.

This series of lessons will focus on the meaning and significance of being Jesus' disciple. The material is intended to challenge students to think and to grow.
